Chipmunk Cattery is
located on five acres of rough and tumble scrub in rural Thurston County,
Washington State. Olympia, Washington state's capitol city, is about
25 minutes away. Magnificent Mont Rainier is in view and the park is
just 2 hours away. Metropolitan Seattle - the hub of the Pacific
Northwest - is two hours north. In addition to the cats, which live inside, Chipmunk Acres is also home to a large Rottweiler, Sheena, and most of the time, to Rascal, the neighbors' Husky. There are numerous bushes and trees and a myriad of wildlife - many birds, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, deer and even a visiting herd of Roosevelt elk. Unfortunately the resident pack of coyotes make it very unsafe for small outside animals - including cats. I have been breeding pedigree cats for over 30 years. The cattery began way back then with breeding Siamese, and still one Siamese remains. I branched out and worked with a number of breeds over a period of time - to include Abyssinians, American Shorthairs, British Shorthairs, Exotic Shorthairs, Manx, Scottish Folds, Himalayans, and Persians. Oriental Shorthairs were added to the basic Siamese in the late 1970's and quickly became to predominant breed (with a token Siamese) There are two main bloodlines of Chipmunk Orientals - Blue eyed Whites and Classic Tabbies, The original aim in classics was to develop a line of silver classics and we are now at that point. Both patterns have won numerous awards at both the regional and national levels of ACFA and TICA and grand championships in all three major US organizations. All bloodlines are strongly influenced by old lines of English Imports with additions from some of the best US lines. More recently Australian and New Zealand lines were added. Chipmunk kittens and cats, when available, can be shipped worldwide from Sea-Tac Airport. The first place for ANY Chipmunk Cat is to be a beloved pet - any breeding and showing would follow after that. Chipmunk Cattery is a closed cattery - with no outside stud service. I do try to work with new breeders and anyone who purchases a Chipmunk Cat to have fit their needs. I have judged for about 27 years and am currently licensed as a Teaching and Training Judge with the American Cat Fanciers Association. I am also chair of the ACFA Genetics Committee. My other interests - for all of that free time a person has when you raise and show cats - are sewing, crafts, scuba diving, zoology, and travel. I love to work with cat patterns in wearable art and home craft items as well as cat toys and beds. Thank you for visiting this site. See you at the shows! |
